Are you detailed and strategic leader who enjoys building a trusted network within both the Markets and Channels & Operations? Bring the demand planning expertise to the table to help us drive continuously improved Supply Chain metrics in LEGO Japan!

Core Responsibilities

1.Supply & Demand Management and Forecasting (70%)

  • Create and drives strategic commercial business plans for LEGO Japan, and bridges those plans to tactical commercial actions with Operations, Sales and Marketing teams

  • Convert information derived from market, customer data and business promotional activities into full year BU business plan recommendations, onboard the rest of the organization (Sales and Marketing) and recommend to Japan Leadership Team

  • Have a high BU level understanding of total business and identify strategic opportunities and risks. Strong understanding the total business and manage both short-term needs and long-term ambition

  • Collaborate with Marketing team and Sales team to plan product launches and promotional volume estimates, customer product mix, theme and account flow model and objectives/strategies according to trend analyses

  • Create and maintain baseline forecasts and add market intelligence to statistically created inputs that will improve its accuracy

  • Drive monthly S&OP process, by providing BU overview, theme level deep-dive analysis, as well as account flow

  • Prepare analyses and deliverables for monthly S&OP cycle in collaboration with the regional Demand/Supply Planning teams

  • Makes recommendation for retail closing stock (RCS) spans per theme, present market inventory situation and discuss current issues/gaps in weekly cross-functional business meeting

2.Continuous Improvements & Project (10%)

  • Implement global project of Simplified Demand Planning (SDP) in Japan in both process and ways of working

  • Drive continuous improvements in existing processes, or create new processes to improve business impacts, increase efficiency, and stabilize processes

  • Actively participate, drive and lead BU business & organizational projects as core members, as a head of Demand Planning Team to create positive impact

3.Ad hoc business analysis, reporting, and presentations (10%)

  • Support business with on-demand analysis and reporting

  • Support GM, Operations Director and JLT on on-demand business presentations

4.Team Development Leadership & Self Development (10%)

  • Invest time in DP team and Operations team development

  • Lead & role model Leadership Play Ground (LPG), D&L and LEGO leadership for wider BU Japan organization

  • Invest in self development through strong IDP (Individual Development Plan) to maximise career potential within the LEGO Group

  • Participate and drive projects within Japan and/or the wider APAC organisation

Senior Demand Planning Manager is a part of Market Operation team in LEGO Japan. This role will report to the Director of Operations but will functionally work with the Regional Demand Planning team, and will lead 2 demand planning managers in the team. This role will be a role model for great team behavior and take ownership of shared tasks within the Operations team.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Data analytics, Economics, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Intelligence or related field

  • More than 5 years in a field of Supply/Demand planning, Financial Planning, Business Analysis, Consulting, or related field with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, in particular Advanced level Excel & Power Point skill (Macro is preferred but not must)

  • Work experience in international matrix organization with constant interactions with multiple partners/teams with different cultural and geographical background

  • Lead the cross functional teams with energy and passion towards business ambition, with high degree of trust

  • Strong analytical, logical thinking, data management, problem solving, presentation skills, as well as team leadership experience

  • Strong communication (both English and Japanese), presentation and interpersonal skills, highly collaborative with internal and external partners in Japan and APAC region. Creating positive energy among local and regional team.

  • Critical thinking, inspiring change management, continuous improvement attitude and experience in working under fast-paced, international matrix organization

  • Ability to manage business analysis, recommendations and presentations on projects and adhoc initiatives

  • Flexibility travel overseas a few times a year
