Job Description

The Global Electronics Process Engineering department is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer (Life after launch) to support the team drive process and product change development projects at the EMS and be fully accountable to the targets and schedule according to agreed prescription.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex Improvement/Engineering Change (Life after launch) projects in the consumer industry, as a part of a cross-functional team (in-house and external EMS staff) including Testing, Purchasing, Quality, Design, Costing and Manufacturing.

  • Participate in the Life after launch Project meetings and discuss process methodologies and value engineering findings with the Project team, EMS and Test engineer.

  • Mitigate and resolve potential risks detected due to topics such as timelines, deadlines, budgets, change requests or similar in the process engineering domain.

  • Act as a central point of contact and advisor in regard to process development for both internal stakeholders such as Life after launch or Project Managers and our EMS partners.

  • Possess process engineering functional expertise in terms of SMT, DFx, Inspection Platforms (AOI), PFMEA, Process Control Plan, Value Engineering and equipment release.

  • Possess good data analysis knowledge to improve performance of processes and justify the potential cost benefits.

  • Drive and enhance Process Engineering function in Life after launch projects constantly.

  • Conduct sample run and trial run to release equipments and processes for Life after launch projects.

  • Analyses and interprets test and quality data and prepares technical reports for use by the various internal stakeholders.

  • Conduct cost analysis, verification and comparison to derive any Process cost benefit out of each Life after launch project.

  • Supervise any kind of evaluation or trial to prove-in new equipment or new processes.

  • Assess supplier’s line configuration and line balancing using MTM knowledge will be a plus point.

Do you have what it takes?

Bachelor's degree or above in an Engineering-related field or equivalent working experience.

6 Sigma Green Belt.

5 years or more in defining line and process set up in the electronics industry (SMT and Box Build operations).

Strong ability to conduct cost & risk analysis.

In depth working experience with EMS partners, in particular in process steps and cost relationship.

Being curious and inquisitive, with ability to provide good initiatives, are requirements in this role.

Willingness to learn, take challenges and to collaborate is a culture highly appreciated.

Good SMT and test methodology knowledge.

Knowledge of Time Studies, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, Bottleneck Analysis and then associate them with appropriate cost.

Good interpersonal communication and proficient in English.

Excellent English communications skill in oral, written and presentation.

You must be flexible to travel regularly within Asia.

Knowledge in typical chemicals used in electronics manufacturing is nice to have.

Knowledge in traceability and production lot control is nice to have.

Experience in using Business Intelligence tools (BI) is nice to have.

Experience in Costing sheet construction is nice to have.

Possess some knowledge in End to End factory operations is nice to have.
