Job Description

The overall expectation for this position is for an engineer to be making consistent meaningful improvements to the codebase, championing best practices in their chosen area and taking ownership for the things they do.

· Take the lead on architecture and designing new features in multiple areas of the codebase.

· Models continuous technical improvement for others (own development and within the team’s products).

· Act as technical guide in multiple areas, unblocks others on most issues within their domain, coaches and mentors less experienced members of the team.

· Owns large initiatives, long term success of production/live features and collaborations across teams, identifies and implements improvements to team processes.

· Present technical concepts and approaches effectively, and translate technical constrains/trade-offs to people within non-technical roles.

· Makes pragmatic choices about escalating to key product/technical stakeholders.

· Assess and remediated security vulnerabilities, and approaches solutions through a lens of security, reliability and performance.

· Lead the development of the engineering culture by encouraging experimentation and prototyping.

. ​Facilitates open discussions and drives towards tangible outcomes and objectives, creates a safe space for other members of the team to contribute.

Qualifications :

  • Has deep technical knowledge and leadership within an engineering domain and high level knowledge of broader engineering disciplines (i.e. Quality Assurance or DevOps Engineering).

  • Excellent communication, presentation, conflict management, critical thinking and leadership skills (e.g. coaching, mentoring, etc.).

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture design, analytics/insights, projects or initiatives.

  • Hands-on experience of self-built enterprise-level data platform (e.g. data warehouse/lake, customer data platform etc.) with solid knowledge of data lifecycle management.

  • Hands-on experience of data engineering technologies (e.g. Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, Apache Spark, Tableau, Streaming/Apache Kafka, CI/CD, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience of cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure).

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and having experience in agile development team(s).

  • Industry experience of retail, FMCG is preferred.

  • Knowledge of data privacy, security, and China data regulation & laws is a plus.

  • Knowledge of EDA, DDD, Data Mesh or Evolutionary Architecture is a plus.

  • Oversea study, working experience or MNC working experience is preferred.
