Job Description

The Research & Development Packing and Packaging (R&D P&P) Organization is looking for a skilledAutomation Specialist (Manager Specialist level)to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about automation, innovative technologies, and contributing to the production of iconic LEGO products, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize PLC software for production equipment.

  • Provide technical guidance and develop automation architecture in collaboration with suppliers and mechanical designers.

  • Ensure compliance with project management rules, relevant norms, directives, and EHS requirements.

  • Support the development of cross-functional teams.

  • Standardize new equipment and continuously improve current equipment.

The purpose of the Research & Development Packing and Packagingorganization (R&D P&P) is to support and execute the Engineering &Quality (E&Q) business plan by ensuring all new products areassembled and packed into optimal packaging in efficient manner onstandardized equipment platforms.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Advanced English

  • Extensive experience in automation, especially in a global environment.

  • Proficiency in development, design, and PLC software programming using IEC 61131-3 languages (preferably Allen Bradley, B&R, Beckhoff, Siemens)

  • Experience with Ethernet-based communication protocols and/or OPC UA.

  • Hands-on experience in functional safety using safety controllers.

  • Knowledge of new technologies and innovative consumer trends.

  • Ability to read and write equipment design requirements (e.g., LEGO Technical Specification).

  • Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical drawings

  • Ability to specify equipment documentation (user manuals, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Nice to Have:

  • Advanced Czech

  • Electrical Engineering Education (Government Regulation No. 194/2022 Coll.)

  • Willingness to travel up to 50 days per year.

  • Experience with the implementation of ANSI/ISA-TR88.
